St Patrick’s Day is a celebration of the Irish culture. It is largely celebrated in the United States to celebrate Irish-American culture on March 17th. St. Patrick was one of Ireland’s patron saints who ministered Christianity in Ireland during the fifth century. During his life he established monasteries, churches, and schools. 

Although blue was the color traditionally associated with St. Patrick, green is now commonly connected with the day. Irish and non-Irish alike commonly participate by wearing green to celebrate the holiday in addition to sporting a shamrock the Irish national plant.
